Campaign Body

The Body campaign menu option is where you enter your primary email body contents.  You can also specify CSS Styles that should be included into the email. The "Body" content is your static template for your email where you can insert Dynamic Insert tags, personalization tags and other functions.  Details on these advanced features are below.

Images: When you add images to your email Body, the DNN Text Editor may remove the portal alias from the URL displaying only the relative URL.  This will not be a problem for Axon since your portals alias is added to the email header as the base source for any relative links and resources within your email.

Email Content Helper

The Email Content Helper section makes it easy to add RSS Feeds or display live content from external sites in your emails.  You don't need to use this section to add external site content and RSS Feeds to your emails since you can directly type the related tags into your content, however this section will insert these tags for you properly formatted  so that you don't need to worry about syntax.

Personalized Tokens

The following additional tags can be added to your campaign body to provide more personalized emails.
  • [USR-USERID] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users User ID

  • [USR-USERNAME] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users user name

  • [USR-FULLNAME] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users display name

  • [USR-AFFILIATEID] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users affiliate id

  • [USR-PASSWORD] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users password

The following tags will display for all recipients even if they are not registered on your site

  • [USR-EMAIL] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users email address

  • [USR-LASTNAME] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users last name

  • [USR-FIRSTNAME] - If the recipient is a registered user in your DNN portal, this will display the users first name

Dynamic Inserts: If you have created any Dynamic Inserts in the Inserts tab, you would enter them into your email body as would any of the above tags.

RSS Feeds

(This section may change soon as additional RSS options are being added to Axon now) To add an RSS Feed to your email, expand the Email Content Helper section, type the RSS URL into the RSS URL textbox and click "Append RSS Feed To Email Body".  Once you do that, Axon will add the tag to the bottom of your Email Body and then you can move it to any location within your content.

Adding Content From Another Site

This allows you to pull content from any web site and display it in your email.  Do the following to see this in action:
  1. Type "Your Home Page" into the Start Tag

  2. Type "Local" into the End Tag

  3. Type "http://www.CNN.com" into the Site URL

  4. Click "Add External Site Content Tag"

Once you do that, Axon will add the tag to the bottom of your Email Body and then you can move it to any location within your content.

CSS Styles

Adding CSS Styles to your emails allows you to maintain your visual branding and standards in the emails you send out with Axon.  You can type your CSS styles directly into the CSS Styles text area or you can import your current skins CSS Styles by clicking the "Import Current Skin CSS Styles" link to make your emails look exactly like your web site.

Email Body Templates

Axon gives you the ability to save Email Body content as Templates for use with other campaigns.  To load a saved template you have already created, select it from the Templates list and click "Load Selected Template" link.  You can also delete the selected template by clicking on the "Delete Template" link.

To add your current Body content to your Templates, type a name for your new template into the Template Name text box and click "Save Template"
